Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop

Managed the programs, exhibitions and daily operations of one of NYC’s busiest co-operative printmaking workspaces from 2009 - 2013.

Exhibitions:
Managed calendar of 6+ exhibitions a year including: Annual Member Show featuring 100+ works, solo exhibitions for published artists, group exhibitions for fellowship recipients and private rental of exhibition space. Liaised with exhibiting artists, overseeing all logistics including shipment of artwork, loan/consignment forms, install, exhibition plan and exhibition related programming.
Generated press releases, e-blasts, and signage. Managed promotional outreach.
Supervised install and exhibition staff. Conducted walkthroughs with collectors closing sales and arranging invoicing, framing and delivery.

Art Fairs:
Represented RBPMW at local art fairs including Affordable Art Fair, NY; Editions|Artists' Books Fair, NY; and Impressions Orlando, FL. Spoke to collectors, curators, press and groups about limited edition fine art prints published by RBPMW and consigned to RBPMW by partner print shops. Closed sales with clients and arranged invoicing, framing and delivery. Handled all fair preparations including packing artwork crates, preparing press packets and distribution of promotional materials and VIP packets.

Management and Program Development:
Managed staff of 50+ volunteers and 3 interns.
Continuously developed new programs and opportunities for workshop community overseeing: scheduling, PR, registration/submissions and evaluations. Events include: classes/workshops (30-45 a year), lectures/demonstrations (6 - 10 a year), and fellowships (6 - 8 awarded each year).

Grants and Financial
Worked on grant applications and reports. Personally responsible for collecting and presenting all
demographic data and supplementary materials. Processed weekly income and bills, audited monthly financial statements, and generated end of year financial analyses for grant reports and board meetings.
